Trinity and Doctrine - 4

Trinity and Doctrine - 4 **Hypothesis:** The difference between faith as doctrinal confession versus faith as participation in the relational love of the Trinity. Let us examine this carefully according to Scripture. **1. Does the Bible Command Us to "Understand and Confess the Trinity"?** Literally: No. The word "Trinity" is not in the Bible. What exists is the experience of God acting as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — one God in three equal, eternal, and mutually loving persons. Jesus never said: "Confess that I am the Second Person of the Trinity." Rather, He said: *"Believe in God; believe also in Me."* (John 14:1) *"I am in the Father and the Father is in Me."* (John 14:11) Believing in Jesus = believing in the Father. This is not a metaphysical formula, but a relationship. **2. The Trinity in the Bible: Not Speculation, But Flowing Love** **Hypothesis:** "The Trinity speaks about how Transcendent Love becomes a reality that f...

Earth's Purpose and God's Redemptive Plan

Earth's Original Design Was "Heavenly"

Genesis 1:31 shows God declared His creation "very good" - earth was originally a perfect reflection of God's glory.

The Garden of Eden was a place of unbroken fellowship between God and man (Genesis 3:8).

The Kingdom Concept

Jesus taught us to pray "Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10), implying earth should reflect heaven.

Revelation 21:1-3 promises the New Jerusalem coming down to a renewed earth, not our abandonment of earth.

The Incarnation Affirms Earth's Value

God became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14), sanctifying earthly existence.

Christ's resurrection body ate food (Luke 24:41-43), showing the eternal value of physical creation.

Our Present Mission

We're called to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16) - transforming earth now.

2 Peter 3:13 speaks of "new heavens and new earth" - not replacement but renewal.

Eschatological Hope

Romans 8:19-21 teaches creation itself will be liberated - earth matters to God.

The resurrection body (1 Corinthians 15) affirms God's plan for redeemed physicality.

Conclusion:

While earth in its fallen state isn't heaven, Scripture consistently shows:

Earth was originally good

God is redeeming creation, not discarding it

Our hope is resurrection and renewal, not escape

The greater folly would be neglecting our calling to participate in God's work of redemption now (2 Corinthians 5:18-20) while we await the complete restoration of all things (Acts 3:21).
