Talking to someone who doesn’t believe in hell

Talking to someone who doesn’t believe in hell  First you requires patience, respect, and a focus on understanding their perspective. Here’s how you can approach the conversation:   1. Listen First – Ask why they don’t believe in hell. Are their doubts based on logic, emotions, or lack of evidence? Understanding their reasoning helps you respond thoughtfully.   2. Clarify Definitions – Some people reject hell because of misconceptions (e.g., seeing it as cruel rather than just). Explain your belief in a way that addresses their concerns.   3. Discuss Justice & Free Will – Some question how a loving God could send people to hell. You can explain that hell is a consequence of rejecting God’s love, not arbitrary punishment.   (To understand this, please read my article about 👉 Trinity : Entity or Relation ?) 4. Use Scripture (If Appropriate) – If they’re open to the Bible, verses like Matthew 25:46 or Revelation 21:8 describe hell, bu...

Jesus Childhood

 The Childhood of Jesus

According to the Bible, there are no detailed records of Jesus’ life between the ages of 12 and 30. There is only one account of Jesus at the age of 12 (Luke 2:41-52), after which the Bible "skips" to His ministry at around age 30 (Luke 3:23).

 1. The Only Record of Jesus’ Childhood (Age 12)

- Luke 2:41-52 tells how Jesus stayed in the Temple, discussing with the teachers of the law.

- His parents (Mary and Joseph) searched for Him for three days before finding Him in the Temple.

- Jesus said: "Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?" (Luke 2:49).

- After this, the Bible simply states:

  > "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." (Luke 2:52).

 2. The "Missing" Years (Ages 13–30) Are Not Explained in the Bible

- There is no information about Jesus’ education, occupation, or other events in His life during these 18 years.

- Luke 3:23 only mentions:

  > "Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry."

 3. Traditions & Speculations About This Period

Since the Bible does not record these years, several traditions and theories have emerged:

1. Jesus worked as a carpenter (Mark 6:3) – Following Joseph’s profession.

2. Eastern Christian traditions (e.g., the non-canonical Infancy Gospel of Thomas) describe minor miracles performed by Jesus as a child, but these are not recognized as part of Scripture.

3. The "Jesus went to India/Tibet" theory – A modern speculation with no biblical basis.

4. A time of spiritual preparation – Possibly, Jesus studied Scripture and lived in simplicity before His baptism by John.

 4. Why Doesn’t the Bible Record This Period?

- The Gospels focus on Jesus’ ministry as the Messiah, not a complete biography.

- God intentionally concealed this period to emphasize that salvation comes through Jesus’ redemptive work (the cross & resurrection), not His childhood.

 Conclusion

- The Bible only records Jesus at age 12 in the Temple, then jumps to around age 30 when He began His ministry.

- There is no reliable information about His life between ages 13–30.

- Traditions or speculations outside the Bible should be treated with caution.
